Brighton Table Tennis Club

Brighton Table Tennis Club

Tim Holtam founded Brighton Table Tennis Club with Harry McCarney, in February 2007 with two worn-out tables in the Brighton Youth Centre and the strong belief that table tennis can be used as a powerful tool in engaging people of all ages and transforming lives.

Today, the club has its own centre with 10 tables in Kemptown and runs 100 tables across the city in from parks and schools to sheltered housing schemes, homeless people centre and a psychiatric hospital and prisons.

BTTC is also a centre of sporting excellence, having produced medal winners in the UK Down’s National Championship and a Gold medal winner at the 2017 World Championships for players with Down’s Syndrome.

Born and bred Brightonian Caleb Yule is a young filmmaker. At just 20 years old, his project Believe That represents an ambitious stride: “I knew when I stumbled onto Team Santos, the three players and coach at the centre of the film, that I had to follow their progress”.
